After T's surgery, he wanted (and needed) a lighter guitar for stage work but still wanted a ballsey tone. In talking with his friends at Shomaker Guitars (these are great people that really care about musicians...) he expressed an interest in a double cut Gibson w/P-90's and a great liking for the color TV yellow. Kim called Tommy from somewhere in the mountains, on the road, and said that he had one, in hand, and that it would arrive soon. " Very nice guitar. I left it stock for awhile to see what was up with it.. The neck reminds me of early Juniors and I've always liked those guitars. Feels like the same neck that my Tokai Explorer has. So, anyway, I swapped out the tuners to the old style tulip type, changed the pickups to Seymore Duncan Antiquity's, installed a LesTrem, and finished it off with a graphite nut and a custom brass headstock plate that says, of course, "Tommys Triple Threat Blues Revue"..... Nice tone. Gives ya that thick rock and roll sound. You know?" T's using it on the new CD that is being recorded now.
